I usually enjoy Colleen Cobbles novels, and while these were entertaining and somewhat interesting, they were just too short to have much character or plot development. Every time I read a novella, I feel cheated somehow. There were names of characters thrown in that I guess would be familiar to those who had read the other books in these series, but somewhat confusing to those, like me, who hadn't. And, most of all, I felt like the 2nd 'book' in this collections of two was almost a carbon copy of the first one. Different name, different mysteries, different locations, but basically the same story once again. They were a somewhat enjoyable way to pass the time, though not what I usually choose to read due to their brevity and lack of sustenance.

Colleen Coble is my favorite author and she never lets me down. Whether a full novel or a novella it is worth every minute reading her stories.
Gentle romance with a Christian background. Enjoyed the settings and the plots of each book. Guessed the culprit of All Is Bright earlier than I would have liked.
Coble delivers again. In two quick reads, these novellas deliver romance, suspense and fulfillment of the promise that God never leaves us and has plans for our good, even in the darkest of times.
These two stories, “All is Calm” and “All is Bright” are delightful romances for Christmas time. I enjoyed all the sweet relationships found in these stories—people who helped people. What more could be more satisfying?
All is Calm is suspenseful, engaging, with an unpredictable plot development around, family relations, betrayal and building trust.
All is Bright opens with a breathtaking car bumper assault and a car careening over a cliff. I had to keep reading to see if the introductory character survived and why the attack.
I discovered i had already read the first of this two-novella combo, so i skipped it and read the second, All is Bright. I felt it tried to encompass every Hope Beach character we had ever met. Colleen Coble does not mind having tons of characters in a book. In a longer book i could deal with it but for the novella it just felt crowded. Still, it was worth reading.
I didn’t pay attention that these are novellas, quicker reads, which is nice when you don’t have a lot of time. All Is Calm grabbed me from the start with an attention getting opening. The intensity of the mystery and investigation added to the story’s believability despite story events and relationships having to build so quickly.
All Is Bright also grabbed me from the start. The main characters already have a relationship that deepens in part due to a dangerous mystery. The novellas are connected by characters with similar traits and was an enjoyable, evening read.
