Trident Code A Lana Elkins Thriller Thomas Waite 9781477828403 Books

A fast-paced thrill ride from the very beginning. The author seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of multiple subjects and the energy to masterfully weave that knowledge into a believable, nerve-rattling adventure. I will feel better when the Department of Defense starts inviting the author to their war game scenario planning sessions. I highly recommend Trident Code. Don't be surprised if you completely miss a meal while reading it.

Trident Code A Lana Elkins Thriller Thomas Waite 9781477828403 Books Reviews

Wasn't sure I wanted to read after his last book read like a made for TV movie but this was worth the read and ill look forward to the next opportunity to read his work.
Trident Code is a page turner to say the least. I loved the plot and the depth of the characters. A great novel with the page turning pace of Michael Crichton, and the in depth ideas that you could find in a Tom Clancy book. A scary look into the near future of cyber terrorism. Looking forward to more from Thomas Waite. Thanks for a great read!
Sadly, due to stuff going on in my life, this book took awhile to finish. Was hard to put the book down, going from a high to being cutoff. Enjoyed this second book, almost as much as the first book. Was glad to see there is a book #3 - already downloaded.
The best Thomas Waite cyber-thriller yet! I felt so engaged, I felt like I was part of the plot! The character development and back-story were just right. Waite made me like to characters I liked (Galina) and hate the characters I disliked (Oleg). The book is fast-paced, against a deadline and with realistic. The good guys did not always win all the time, but in the end their efforts paid off. Sad the book finished quickly, but I had a difficult time putting it down between reads.
Thomas Waite has done it again with Trident Code, his second book in his Lana Elkins series - scared the bejesus out of me through his keen ability to weave a strong knowledge of technology and techno-security into a plot line that was full of surprising twists and had me glued to my from start to finish. He is closing the gap with some of my other favorite authors Tom Clancy and Dan Brown with every book and I can’t wait to read his next one. Unlike some of the more popular writers in the techno-thriller genre, I like the way that Waite has taken risks by introducing a “non-traditional” villain in the form of Oleg. I found myself hating Oleg one minute, but kind of relating to some of his more comical inner conversations the next minute. But (and this is not a spoiler!) he is definitely a vile person through and through. With this book, I also felt that I got to know Lana Elkin’s character much better than I did at the end of his prior book, Lethal Code. So, if you are ready to take a temporary respite from the world around you to immerse yourself in a fast-paced and scary-assed story, I encourage you to read Trident Code. You don’t need to have read Lethal Code - first of the Lana Elkins series - to fully enjoy this book but I bet that, once you’ve finished Trident Code, you’ll want to plunge into Lethal Code too!
After last year’s mile-a-minute, rollercoaster thrill ride Lethal Code, I wondered if Thomas Waite could repeat the effort. With his latest Lana Elkins thriller, Trident Code, Waite has established himself as one of today’s top thriller writers.
With an original trifecta of cyber, nuclear, and environmental terrorism combined with wrenching modern human dilemmas, Trident Code is a refreshing reboot of the thriller genre. And you’ll absolutely love to hate the evil mastermind Oleg, a fully contemporary Russian villain.
If you’re like me and you’ve grown tired of the old-school, predictable, formulaic books from writers like Patterson, Baldacci, DeMille, Preston, Child, and Finder, I recommend you give Waite a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Tom Waite gives us another cyber security crisis that is so current it's impossible to miss the non-fiction possibilities of this fiction novel. When a nuclear submarine becomes a weapon against the world, beginning with a biological agent that kills virtually all onboard, make sure you have time to keep turning the pages. Before you're through, a scientific disaster for the planet, a nuclear attack, hacking from rogue and state actors, such as Russia, and a little girl who's dying, all become part of the picture.

Lana Elkins, the NSA contractor from Lethal Code, risks her life in multiple ways in this novel to save the day, including populations on the East and West Coasts of the U.S. and other cities and countries around the globe already suffering from rapidly rising sea levels. How can further damage be prevented, and what may happen if it isn't? Tom Waite delivers on another shockingly possible terrorist scenario.

The novel is well-researched and the writing first-rate. Lots to think about here, and we should all be mindful of things that COULD happen and be as prepared as we can.
